As we revealed this morning, Marvel Studios and the Disney+ streaming platform have released a new mid-season trailer for Daredevil: Born Again 2, and surprisingly, the promotional clip contains a major spoiler about the return of Krysten Ritter’s Jessica Jones.
In the new clip, Jessica appears in her iconic leather jacket and sunglasses, and tells Daredevil, “They showed up at my house, where my daughter is.” The fact that the superhero-turned-private investigator, played by Krysten Ritter, has become a mother since we last saw her on screen is quite a plot twist. There are still many questions—is Luke Cage the father, as in the comics?—but Jessica Jones’s words in the trailer (“I’m furious”) seem to reflect fans’ feelings toward Marvel.
“I’m furious that they revealed this so suddenly. Why?!” commented one fan. “Spoiling all this is absurd; they’ve already spoiled a ton of stuff in these promos—we don’t need spoilers for every episode,” commented another user. “Spoiling this much in these promos is madness,” added someone else. Incidentally, Jessica Jones hasn’t appeared in the series yet, so it’s unclear when we’ll see her—or when we’ll see her daughter. As for who showed up at her house, it could be Mayor Wilson Fisk’s anti-superhero task force…which might explain the already confirmed return of The Defenders in Daredevil: Born Again 3.
Remember that the new Daredevil trailer also hides, in its final moments, the teaser trailer for The Punisher: One Last Kill, the Marvel Special Presentation film dedicated to Jon Bernthal’s Frank Castle, which will premiere on May 12 on Disney+, one week after the conclusion of the second season of Daredevil: Born Again and a few months before Spider-Man: Brand New Day, when The Punisher makes his big-screen debut on July 29.
